Join Alexia Rothman, PhD for this introductory 6-month Internal Family Systems Therapy Skills & Supervision Programme for those new to IFS or Level 1 Practitioners!

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is one of the most popular treatment models in psychotherapy today.
And for good reason! The evidence-based IFS therapy model offers a compassionate, non-pathologising way to effectively work with a client's inner “parts” … to achieve deep emotional healing and inner transformation.

There's no resource more valuable to your development as an IFS therapy practitioner than direct, tailored and specialised supervision and consultation* with a world-renowned IFS therapy expert.

That's why we're excited to announce this unique opportunity to get personalised, next-level education and supervision directly from world-renowned Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy therapist and educator Alexia Rothman, PhD!

You'll join an engaged cohort of your colleagues from around the world for beginner-friendly monthly IFS therapy skills and supervision sessions, where you'll explore the power of the IFS model and how to work with parts to guide your clients toward healing and transformation. You'll learn:
  • Powerful IFS therapy interventions that leverage the therapeutic relationship to open up deep, internal healing opportunities
  • How to offer healing to ‘traumatised' parts of a client that carry deep wounds, guilt, shame and burdens
  • How to work with non-verbal parts when going beyond verbal communication is necessary
  • How to identify the presence of your own parts in-session that could inhibit therapeutic progress
  • And much more!

Plus, you'll get unlimited access to the skills CPD recordings, so you can review the material whenever you need.

Normally an opportunity like this would take years of waiting to be selected ... but you get the rare chance to be part of this very limited cohort of 56 participants.

Skills Session 1 - The Presence of the Internal Family Systems Therapist

Tuesday 23 April 2024

While mastery of the IFS protocol is an essential element of effective IFS therapy, the Self-led presence of the therapist is perhaps the most powerful determinant of how the therapeutic work proceeds. Our ability to remain attuned, engaged, and deeply present with our clients facilitates them accessing their own wisdom, intuition, and healing essence. In Dick Schwartz's words, “Self begets Self.” In this session, we will discuss how to identify the presence of our own parts in the therapy setting, the difference between empathy and compassion and how to adjust this ratio as needed, and how to work with our parts to allow maximal access to Self-energy with clients.

Supervision Group Session 1 - 4:30PM - 6:00PM BST

Skills Session 2 - Polarizations in the Internal System

Tuesday 14 May 2024

Polarizations involve two or more parts, or teams of parts, working in direct opposition to each other. This extremely common phenomenon routinely arises in our therapeutic work, reflected in our clients' struggles with issues ranging from decision-making, productivity, and self-care, to more severe clinical concerns such as eating disorders and addictive processes. This session will focus on ways to identify when polarizations are present in our clients' systems and how to defuse them respectfully and collaboratively such that effective healing work can take place.

Supervision Group Session 2 - 4:30PM to 6:00PM BST

Skills Session 3 - Direct Access

Tuesday 11 June 2024

Direct access is a powerful modality in which the Self of the therapist interacts directly with blended parts of the client. This intervention allows more extreme parts, including those that are not aware that the client's Self exists or that do not trust the client's Self nor the therapist, to feel a connection with the therapist's Self and to be known and understood from this compassionate, respectful place. This process, healing in its own right, also paves the way for deep, internal Self-to-part connection and healing. This session will involve how and when to use the different types of direct access to facilitate the therapeutic process.

Supervision Group Session 3 - 4:30PM to 6:00PM BST

Skills Session 4 - Deepening the Self-to-Part Relationship

Tuesday 2 July 2024

The Self is the agent of healing in IFS therapy. Thus, the importance of developing an authentic, deep connection between the Self of the client and the part in need of healing cannot be overstated. In this session, we will discuss why, on both emotional and biological levels, the process of deepening the Self-to-part connection is essential in the healing process, as well as various methods for deepening this connection in and out of sessions.

Supervision Group Session 4 - 4:30PM to 6:00PM BST

Skills Session 5 - The Relationally Corrective Experience in the Healing of Exiles

Tuesday 6 August 2024

The healing of wounded and traumatised parts is an essential component of the therapeutic process in IFS therapy. This session involves discussion of the nuances of this healing process, by which the Self can connect with a wounded part stuck in “trauma time” and bring healing through supporting this part in the ways it needed at the time of the traumatic experience.

Supervision Group Session 5 - 4:30PM to 6:00PM BST

Skills Session 6 - The Nature of Healing and Change in IFS Therapy

Tuesday 3 September 2024

While IFS therapy offers the possibility of rapid, transformative change, where, on occasion, a single session results in significant healing and a noticeable difference in the way the client feels and moves through the world, it is more common that healing is a developmental process that evolves over time as clients work with their systems. In this session, we will discuss the spiral nature of the healing process in IFS therapy, as well as post-unburdening integration work, how to support protective parts in moving from extreme to preferred roles and consolidating change in the system.
