Event Dates: 20 February - 23 February 2020
Venue: Hilton London Olympia, London
Trauma negatively impacts brain structure and function. Fortunately, the human brain has the ability to “rewire”, allowing us to heal trauma ourselves.
But it takes a skilled therapist to help traumatised people work with their emotional experiences so they can grow, change, and leave the legacy of trauma in the past. That’s where AEDP comes in.
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is an evidence-based experiential treatment model that integrates attachment theory, affective neuroscience, body-focused approaches, and transformational studies. It helps you uncover your clients’ natural ability to heal, freeing them from long-term suffering.
Understanding AEDP is like having a map of the transformational process that can always help you know where you are in the clinical process, and where you want to go.
Thousands of clinicians all over the world have already discovered how AEDP enhances their trauma treatment practice. Come find out for yourself how this treatment model can transform your practice and help you better serve your clients.
AEDP Immersion is the recommended first course for licensed therapists seeking to become AEDP Certified.
Join us for an eye-opening 4-day training course and take the first step toward certification.
The Dyadic Repair of Attachment Trauma:
Healing at the Edge of Transformational Experience
The AEDP Immersion course will teach you how to
- Develop and nurture your faith in the client’s capacity to heal
- Harness the power of being seen, heard and understood and use this power to help your clients move through trauma
- Help your clients work through their defences
- Guide your clients to a newfound ability to trust
You’ll also discover how to provide an essential framework for healing and transformation through a process of attunement, spontaneous disruption and intentional repair informed by specific, experientially driven intervention strategies.
You will learn how to use AEDP’s rigorous transformational theory to closely track clinical processes. Extensive use of clinical videotapes will demonstrate hallmark AEDP techniques such as:
- Dyadic affect regulation
- Experiential work with attachment experience
- Working with receptive affective experience, such as feeling felt, feeling seen, and feeling cared for
- Processing emotion through to a transformational shift
- The metaprocessing of transformational experience
Experiential exercises will allow you to both practice AEDP interventions and experience how brain, body, psyche and the experience of human connection and transformation intertwine to unleash deep emotional change and heal attachment trauma.
You’ll walk away from this training course with a felt sense of what the work is like, and with a rock-solid understanding of AEDP theory and tools.
